Whisky Reviews for buair an diabhail of Islay tempt the devil

Again one of the innumerable devils (tempt the devil - buair an diabhail) by Thomas Ide, this time from a Bourbon barrel. Probably a Lagavulin ...

Ahle Worscht (Mettwurst for all non-Northern Hesse :-)), greasy-oily-smoky like smoked eel, slightly sweet.
    • Taste
      82 82
Very strong, somewhat nutty, a lot of smoke and peat, grapefruit, light bourbon sweetness.
    • Finish
      80 80
Bitter and becoming dry, astringent, light spiciness, allspice, cloves.

Well, that's unfortunately not mine. In the aroma I can still find sweetness, vanilla, tobacco and smoke. That is also quite good.
But I do not like the taste. Smoke, bitterness, medicine, some spice.
Sorry, that does not suit me. Then rather a 16 Lagavulin, that has that too, but also a few notes more and costs less.
