    I quite like this malt even if it is not commonplace;
    Is fruitier with water but not as harmonious. I find it better to take small sips neat;
    • Nose
      Sparkling with citrus fruits, malt, ripe peaches, soft horrid tones. Spicy ginger in the nose and a creamy sweetness rounds everything off;
      With water; Softer alcohol with oranges, malt, peaches and grassy notes. A small trace of smoke in the background
    • Taste
      Creamy sweetness, oranges and very light malt. Becomes ginger-spicy and malty at the same time. Vanilla in the background where there is a very light peat aroma. Over time, the ginger fades and gives way to an elegant orange note;
      With water; Oranges, malt, vanilla and a slight spiciness of ginger paired with creamy sweetness. Becomes grassy again as the sharpness goes;
    • Finish
      Initially sharp, then malt and dark chocolate mixed with a grassy touch. Trof is no longer perceptible;
      With water; Pepper, Nice sweetness with some dark chocolate;

      Relatively short compared to other Glen Ords.

    Oily, fruity and honey-sweet. Unfortunately I cannot distinguish between individual fruits. In general, I would most likely think of yellow, local fruits. Despite being 18 years old, there was still a slight alcohol spiciness in the mouth. The finish is quite long, very strong and mouthwashing. Overall a nice bottling.

    Appetizing dessert whisky.
    • Nose
      Saturated with notes of honey, plum jam, caramel, walnut and dark chocolate. Liqueur and floral tones follow in parallel, a separate train.
    • Taste
      Nibbling, with hints of wild strawberry, rose, rose hip and herbal tea.
    • Finish
      Intense, long. First, ginger mixed with cherries. Then spices and delicate tannins. At the end is an echo of a rose.

    Nose: A nice melange spiced fruits, starting on peaches, apricots and some apple with a hint of sweet pastries, sponge cakes, oranges and some damp old oak and lemon zest, quite light and sweet-ish but not overly so.

    Palate: bitter grapefruit pith, lemon rind, then getting a bit sweeter with a buttery touch, vanilla and more pastries, and a lovely polished oak note as well, showing nice age and mixing well with the citrus-y feeling. quite round and oily, with a certain zingy minty touch, over a chocolate/vanilla mousse, sweet oak on the very finish.

    Finish : oak, pepper, lemon zest and barley sugar and more polished oak.

    Conclusion: A rather tasty whisky indeed, I am not disappointed one bit, and really appreciate this year’s solid expression from all distilleries across the board. It’s not a dram I’d buy straight away, but I know quite a few people who will take a fancy to this one.
