Matured gracefully. Very nice and full-bodied. Also very nicely bottled.

The typical Couvreur cellar note is noticeable right at the beginning and it is not difficult to believe that the barrels are stored there in a damp rock cellar. There is also a fine hint of smoke, pickled cherries, vanilla, dried orange slices, candied pineapple, dark grapes, ripe papaya, spicy oak.
    • Taste
      89 89
Powerful start, slightly oily body. Caramel, burnt cane sugar, malt, rum topf, pleasant cellar mustiness, raisins, cherries with dark chocolate shavings, oranges, grapes, nice notes of oak.
    • Finish
      89 89
Mid-length finish. Chocolate cake, cherries, rum raisins, oak.

    nose:
woody, dirty seaweed, wet grass, earthy peat, fruity, sweet apple, also salty
    peppery, moldy, sweet almond
fleeting sensation of rose petal then sweet sherry
    mouth:
peppery, woody, toasted on roasted nuts, caramelized, spices on toasted cinnamon, on liquorice which leaves the smoke in vague memories,
heat with a little bitterness, the candied sensation that comes suddenly, on nuts, raisins, a little candied orange peel, honey sensation too; end with a return of vanilla and cocoa
    final:
oaky, cocoa, spicy, some dried seaweed and mild sherry, slightly pronounced with grape skin mold.

Nice Couvreur representative. As always, a bit musty, a bit dirty and just something special, with a nice sherry profile
    • Nose

Clear red fruits, somehow a bit musty and spicy at the same time. In addition, vanilla cream and strong dark chocolate cream with dry cocoa powder. In the background, a light musty herbal note with restrained old sherry notes. After the first sip, I find men's cream with berries (raspberries) and chocolate shavings pickled in schnapps on top. With a touch of cherries.
    • Taste
      88 88
Intense and relatively powerful, there are great spices and tart nut notes to beech. In addition, light vanilla, creamy, musty red fruit notes, a little love apple, sweetish grapes and chocolate cake.

Spicy, sweet, slightly musty, with red fruit notes and a good portion of sherry influence.
    • Finish
      87 87
A light smoky note is noticeable, spices and dry chocolate are added. Very consistent, nothing stands out too tart or too spicy. Fades gently with the chocolate and lovely notes of sherry.
