Whisky Reviews for Bowmore 12-year-old

- Thanks Uncle, it is simply refined total.
- Today an older Bowmore in a dumpy bottle for Soffiantino. Let's see how it tastes.
Nose starts with a nice smoke then followed by tropical fruits. Some floral notes faintly arrive but quite different and nothing like the lavender soap from 80's distillate.
The palate continues with a nice and soft smoked honey note with the tropical fruits opening shortly after, followed by a salty oiliness.
Finish continues where the palate left off and adds a salty and smoky element. A nice dusty note at the tail end that fades nicely.
- basic bowmore bottling?
herbaceous, fresh, woody, light peat
the freshness is confirmed with mint, no violet but well dried herbs on one side, and a bouquet garni wet in a basket
a honeyed sweet return
aqueous sensation !!
peppery spices, the aromas lose their intensity
the woody is quite important, with dust on an old piece of furniture and a little polish
we find more a smoke sensation than peat
fruits are on mango, peach, tangerine cooked
short enough, not very expressive even, there the joy of the nose is lost, I remain on my hunger!
- Much too watery in the mouth for this bottle. Bad batch? Pity. Stay fresh and nice but only the nose holds the reputation.
On the nose mainly herbaceous. Mint, thyme, a little lilac.
Exotic fruits are fortunately quite present.
It's really very cool. Much more than in my memories.
A very light cigarette.
A little watery in the mouth. Worth a lot more power.
Very fresh again. A lot of eucalyptus.
The fruit is more discreet. And more yellow than exotic.
Peach syrup. Papaya
Final quite sweet and fresh.

Nose: Very pleasant - sweet marzipan notes in conjunction with a herbal parade, Maggiwürze, cowshed and wet sheepskin. Freshly staked peat and a lot of smoke. Maritime with underlaid nut flavors.
Taste: Somewhat thin consistency, only slightly spicy, again cowshed, old leather saddle, attic and old furniture. In addition, there are very salty herbs, some wood and a fine honey sweetness.
Finish: Relatively short - smoky-salty-dry! Dried herbs and dusty loft.
Comment: The nose reminds a bit of the old blends of White Horse from the fifties!
90 points (nose: 91 / taste: 90 / finish: 88)
- A superb bowmore, peaty, with a delicious tropical fruitiness with a scent of violet and wild berries.
I my oppinion a bit sweeter than whiskyid=7295.
