For me personally the best batch so far, especially a brilliant nose! ( "Chocolate Monster")
    Notes without water.
    • Nose
      88 88
Chocolate, chocolate and chocolate. Rather dark, the alcohol is there, but not overly dominant.
Strong sweetness comes to it, dark fruit, raisins. After a while, a touch of orange.
    • Taste
      85 85
Violent start, but despite almost 60% not unpleasant alcoholic - the sweetness is dominant, syrupy. Light mint note with lots of chocolate towards the finish.
Not quite as complex as the nose, but very delicious.
    • Finish
      85 85
Flowing transition with the chocolate again clearly dominates in the finish. Stimulates the flow of saliva and remains with a subtle sweetness.

Milk chocolate bonbons that you get at the fancy coffee shops with the cappuchino. Biscuit filled with fudge and raisins. The coffee is accompanied by a pecan caramel bun, topped with honey. The orange peel is on top of the spicy spiced cinnamon bun for decoration.
    • Taste
      88 88
In winter around noon it is gray and drab outside. Inside you pour a warm glass of chocolate milk, it is quite spicy at first, hot, but the longer you wait the sweeter it gets. On the table is a bowl of chocolate raisins and dates. The person next to you is drinking hot tea with honey and eating peanut m & m's.
    • Finish
      88 88
Nicely balanced in terms of taste. Spiciness diminishes quickly and beautiful diverse flavors remain open. Top.

Honey on wet spruce wood. It reminds me of the candy store where I used to go, where there was often a saucer with milk chocolate pieces. A little later I also taste orange, raisins and caramel, mixed with pure cocoa,. I taste coffee, liquorice and shades of bay leaf and slightly spicy notes.
    • Taste
      88 88
Honey and with sugared bastard sugar biscuit. Dark chocolate, but also milk chocolate, raisins, peppered dates with peanuts and grated walnut.
    • Finish
      87 87
Caster sugar, honey, raisins, white chocolate, and pepper notes. Tones dates, pineapple, orange and white grapes.

very tasty and tasty. I also find it very soft and round despite the high alcohol content. He doesn't need water.
    • Nose
      87 87
Dark chocolate, caramel, somewhat sweet, dark fruits, raisins, the high alcohol content is hardly noticeable, light sherry notes, very round and soft
    • Taste
      86 86
here too a chocolatey but also violent start. Caramel also comes from the dark fruits. Slightly minty
    • Finish
      87 87
long finish, I taste sherry and again the chocolate notes as well as the caramel. Dried fruit and light honey come at the end

I tasted a few Glenallachie expressions over the last few months. Especially the single ask versions were great. I was not that convinced about the core range, but this 10y-old Glenallachie at CS comes really close to the level of the SC expressions!

Immediately when the first dram of the bottle was poured in the glass, you could notice the Billie Walker signature.
Full sherry nose with some spicy flavors. Lovely!
Great sherry sweetness, but no "glensherry". No water necessary despite the high abv.
Long finish with nice balance of sherry, chocolate and spices.

Had this at a digital glennallachie tasting.
This is a really nice cask strength whisky. It is powerful and young and strong but really well balanced. Also the price to performance ratio is amazing.
    • Nose
      86 86
dark chocolate and a lot of it. again nice speyside character, pears, apricots, but also rasberries, and tropical fruits (passion fruit?) and even though it is cask strength quite easy on the nose.
    • Taste
      88 88
Wow I like the taste of it, it is very sweet as was expected by the nose. Again dark chocolate and cocoa. It is powerful, and really very sweet, again it goes in that maple syrup sweetness, also mint and spicy woods.
    • Finish
      87 87
A nice long finish, vanilla, also the chocolate and cocoa is still very present. sweet again and it accents the taste and the nose even more. good stuff

N- Quite lovely Batch 2 from a wee tasting months ago. This B3 comes along with quite different composition, while PX and Olorosso still in the blood stream, they have replaced the Virgin Oak in B2 with 1st Filled Sherry for this one. All sherry affair with well balanced of OS and PX interchanging swiftly with deep nutty oiliness. At 58.2%, my nose are up for a sensational treats with toffee smokes, cocoa powder, wood shaves fragrant. Various sugar coated danish pastries with cinnamon powder, sticky and inviting. (88/22)

P- Full and rounded. Juicy strength and ripe fruits sweetness oozing in the oak-y sphere, toffee, bitter treacle and echoing charred notes. Feeling the weight on the nose. (89/22)

F- Medium long, frizzy spicy coat lasted overtimes. Chewy, ripe tannnin, sticky sweet with more dried fruits delivery at the tail. (86/20)

    B/B- 89/22

Weighted Rate- 86pt. Young and lively B2 ; Mellow with depth in B3.

Rated diluted to about 52% with some water. Very successful, round filling.
    • Nose
      87 87
Dark chocolate, orange, dark fruits, Christmas spices
    • Taste
      87 87
What is already noticeable on the nose can also be found on the palate. Creamy.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium length, finally the oak remains (spices and dark chocolate)

Perfect. The age does well to counter the % to a spot-on dram. If it makes you want to refill and you do, even when you know to be sparing with it, it’s one of the good ones!
