Frankly, I'm surprised to see this exceptional malt awarded merely 89.45p, but sure, taste is subjective, and perhaps I'm a dash biased, as I count Blair Athol as one of my top five favourite distilleries. What Adelphi have done here with this BA-- the distillate of which is obviously rich and vibrant here-- is absolutely divine. BA and sherry need to happen much more often, because I count this bottling to be among the greatest sherry expressions I've personally encountered. Classic sherry, red fruit, baking spice, leather notes dominate, but it is the mouthfeel and viscosity of this dram which remain burned into your memory... possibly never have I encountered such an all-encompassing dram, which fills every nook and cranny of your mouth so richly and effortlessly, while leaving you that spicy sherry kiss all over. This is absolutely divine, indulgent, stuff... I hope Adelphi do another run of this!
