Nose: "church" aromas of the old Highland Park (eucalyptus, sandalwood, camphor), fresh mint, honey, oil, a little smoke.
Taste: there is a slight dip against the background of the aroma, you must drink in a big gulp.
Finish: very long, mint-menthol, eucalyptus and wax.

Incredible old school sherry nose. Ritter Sport rum, cream caramel, ripe blood orange, milk chocolate

Very balanced taste, but good tingling on the tongue, goes in the direction of rum ball.

Finish very strong oak, espresso, baking cocoa, becoming very dry

A fantastic surprise at a friends 50th birthday tasting. Old school HP and even with power at 43% if you chew it well and really put your nose in the glass.

The nose likely would improve with more air, but this was a freshly opened bottles.

Had the good fortune to sample this at Gathering 2018. A nice and pleasurable dram as an aperitif. Subdued and sophisticated.

Re-review for the last drams of Armin Fuchs' bottle.

Very leathery, balanced and definitive classic HP.

    Extremely satisfying Whisky.

New rating for the second half of the bottle:

it became rounder and rounder over the months!

Wonderful spiced honey, the perfect amount of peat, the leather is just great, and the balance of sweet and maritime flavors is most satisfying!

We are so happy about the changes in the bottle during the time it is open now (maybe 2 months).

    It became full and intense.

    Classic HP, definitely!

    Tasting with Armin Fuchs.
    • Nose
Sweet and spicy honey with heather right from the start until the last drop ...

Accompanied by a lot of 'old' citrus with tart oranges and currants.

Old Sherry cask is there also from the beginning giving rich spiciness and scouring powder.

Really some tartness but after only a few minutes interwoven with sweetness from the honey and some fudge (with some beautiful vanilla).

Later gorgeous coffee aromas (aromatic brew) and some 'old' caramel. Also some tart leather.

It is always possible to meet peat, too.

Simple in a way but full and round - noseable for hours ... this is most pleasant!
    • Taste
In contrary to the first tasting (quite watery and not full) there is a huge richness slowly exploding after some seconds.

Really fiery! With spices from the old cask and lots of orange juice and lemon juice. Not dense but powerful!

Peat, espresso, currants, fudge and leather.

Then some wonderfully sweet honey comes into play giving more depth and complexity.

Dark and hints of brandy beans and scouring powder shine through.

      Very long.
    • Finish
Also very long and very warm

Initially old Sherry cask again with orange peel (tart) and more spiciness - but never too dominant throughout.

Brandy beans and currants again plus the mouthfeel (almost a little bit 'metallic') of them.

Scouring powder again which is wonderful in the aftertaste.

Leather, hints of honey and wood.

Later butterscotch and always coated by some citrus.
