Whisky Reviews for Tormore 1995 Goe

7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.75 points

  1. Totoro scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

A straightforward, older Speysider, which is well suited as an upscale drinking whisky or as an introduction to the evening. Perhaps too neutral for some, as the barley is very much in the foreground, but that is precisely what makes it so suitable for north-facing palate. Alright for the price.

First a brief hint of alcohol, but that quickly evaporates. Then very clean and malty, more grainy than fruity. Oatmeal, light rolls. Also here already nice and oily (sunflower oil, unscented creams). With longer standing then light, light / local fruits: I am primarily thinking of mirabelle plums and pear peels. With vanilla quark. Super straight and uncomplicated, but also without any disruptive factors.
    • Taste
      87 87
Gooseberry, sweet and tart orange juice, porridge, milk with honey, tobacco leaves, some leather. Nice and cute and mouth-lining. Slightly peppery at the back (ginger flakes, white pepper).
    • Finish
      86 86
Completely okay, but also a bit lacking in character. Fades noticeably with slight residual sweetness and barley / grain in the aftertaste.

  2. LDB scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

A quite respectable goalie (and there are not so good ones ...) that I like a lot.
    • Nose
      88 88
Spicy apple pie. Malty-sweet, in the background old kitchen cabinets and spice racks
    • Taste
      87 87
Very tasty, less complex, with a malty-grassy note, but still nice and oily with honey.
    • Finish
      85 85
      Grapefruit, ginger-lemon tea

  7. Issie did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    • Nose
Somehow almost dusty, grain, very light honey, lemon candy, very light caramel and a few other light fruits, grasses
    • Taste
Dried apricot, herb candy, lemon candy, lemon, some honey, caramel, some wood, pepper towards the finish
