"The nose started with a light playfulness that danced over cut grass and minty freshness. Sweeter notes of vanilla pods and digestive biscuits morphed into malted milk drink with a spicy tingle from nutmeg and ginger. Then sweet butter pastry introduced rhubarb crumble with thick custard and a half melted choc ice. A dash of water released elements of dried herbs and grapefruit pith with suggestions of lemon cough sweets. Comforting warmth from root ginger coated the mouth before black pepper made way for strawberry fondant and fudge. Ginger tingled through to the finish where it evolved into crystalised ginger and joined lemon sponge cake with lots of oak."
