Whisky Reviews for Glengoyne 25-year-old

This is how a sherry barrel of aged malt should be, a dream in every way. Complex and exciting interplay from nose to finish (fruit, oak, leather, ...) that is actually only possible with such long ripening times. A true gentleman for special moments that you can deal with forever. Could hardly be better and a noticeable increase to the already fantastic 21J. Only the price is steep.

The best dram I've had so far, well worth the investment.
    Sherry whisky at its best.
After 25 minutes of standing in the Glencairn glass, it is present in all its depth and complexity.
Not to be described in words - it would need a novel to depict all facets of this extremely varied experience.
Therefore only one thing: GRANDIOS (nosing, tasting and the extremely long finish).
With 10 gtt water to 30 ml, there are other impressions on the palate that enrich the tasting (it took an hour)

A dream of whisky, only the price hurts at 290 euros. Then maybe buy the 21 several times after all. For me, the points relate to the taste, not the price!

Apart from the yellow and green flat-nose pliers with the 6 and 4 points, I agree with the ratings of the other tasters. Typical, quite multifaceted representative of its kind, which gains a lot of aromas through the addition of a few drops of water. As a result, the acid disappears in the nose and the malt opens up vigorously.
It flatters the nose with sherry, dark fruit, leathery and musty and then turns into a smooth sweetness in the mouth, which is accompanied by a subtle dryness in the finish. No trace of burning alcohol, overall round and solid. And the bottle shape with the great cork is nice and valuable. Great attention to detail. Well done Glengoyne.
