A sherry sulfur bomb. If you do not like sulfur, you will not be happy here. Very much of it !!

Not bad, but not a superb sherried Glenrothes, pretty thin at 57%. 86/87.

Floral. Citruses, spicy oak, caramel, sherry, forest fruits and varnished wood.
    • Taste

Dry sherry, green apple, citruses, butter caramel, spicy oak and cocoa.
    • Finish

      Medium length, sour.

[Sep 19 outturn tasting - quick note] Good one, still not very distinctive. For the caramel lovers.
    • Nose
Loads and loads of liquid caramel, crème brulée.
    • Taste
Soft arrival, well made, with a nice crescendo on classic sherry markers, butterscotch mainly.
    • Finish
Somehow a bit fruitier, even possibly floral.

  8. Allandale scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    Candy sweetness, spicyness.
    • Nose
Thick sherry nose, raisins, figs and soft brown sugar, Some distant ash notes and then redcurrant jelly.
    • Taste
Big mouthfeel, soft spices with dry sherry notes. Melted chocolate, jelly sweets and freshly peeled ginger.
    • Finish
Growing toffee notes, mixing with raspberries and brambles along with whole cinnamon sticks and ground nutmeg
