Unfortunately, in my eyes, it lacks a bit of intensity. You can find typical, pleasant bourbon notes, but unfortunately in a weaker form. From this I would conclude that mainly multiply used casks were used for the bottling. For newcomers to the world of single malts, this malt offers a good start. Unfortunately, more advanced connoisseurs will not be able to enjoy this malt as much.
    • Nose
Initially soft and sweet. I find typical bourbon flavors like honey, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Once the nose has gotten used to the first impression, slightly sour notes of juicy green apples and citrus fruits increasingly shine through. In connection with the slightly sour note, the citrus fruits remind me of a mixture of orange and lemon sherbet powder. Slightly spicy aromas from the barrel remain weak in the background.
    • Taste
The start on the tongue is very restrained with a slight sweetness. The mouthfeel is generally very soft and slightly warming. The alcohol is almost imperceptible. In my opinion, the slightly sour citrus fruits are in the foreground, although on the second try I also find other fruits in the direction of peaches and apricots. The more I try, the more flowery the mouthfeel becomes, with almost perfume-like notes.
    • Finish
The spiciness of the oak becomes more present, but without completely suppressing the sweetness. The whole thing reminds me of milk chocolate with hazelnuts. The finish is very pleasant, but unfortunately a bit short.

This Glenkinchie is the lightest and softest bottling among the Classic Malts of Scotland. The Glenkinchie was originally bottled when it was 10 years old.

Orange biscuits/sponge cake in a smell, orange jam, from a longer distance you can smell some dry hay. Tastes sweet, good whisky for the price. I gave it a relatively good score because of the price
