    he would go blind as a very good Scot. An extremely successful German whisky. I don't know how much influence the Bowmore really has, but the distillate is peaty and a lot of it fits together pretty well. Perhaps the best German single malt I've drunk so far.
    • Nose
      slightly musty smoke, you actually think you feel a Bowmore note, can of course also be imagination. The smoke is present, not intrusive, the sherry barrel brings nutty and slightly fruity aromas to the nose. A slightly surprising acidic, fruity note flashes from time to time. Also something like a wet cloth, with spices, cloves, or orange peel dried .. Definitely an exciting peat nose.
    • Taste
      Velvety soft, sweet, but with a nice start, it doesn't need water. Then there are bitter oak notes, a nice portion of smoke, some pepper, subtle fruit in the background. Delicious.
    • Finish
      tart, oak, dry smoke, only a little bit sweet in the background. Long on smoke and oak.

    Nose: greasy smoke, sweet oak notes, juicy light fruit, some leather. Its pleasant fragrance sticks in the nose for a long time. After a while, I still have ashes, garden herbs (parsley) and creamy cocoa.

    Mouth: aromatic full-bodied, herbaceous-herbal peat, also fruity (although I have no precise associations there), the alcohol is very well integrated.

    Finish: creamy, velvety mouthfeel, the herbs and a honey sweetness stay pleasantly long, nice and warm.

    Conclusion: Meets my taste in the peat sector: greasy-ashy and herbal, but also subtly fruity. I find it very solid, relatively clean and wonderfully clear from the nose to the finish. Nothing seems fake, the aromas harmonize beautifully. Thumbs up!

    Really successful whisky

      The Bowmore barrel can be clearly felt, beautiful smoke, the dark fruits behind it
    • Taste
      Full and voluminous, not too alcoholic but a chilicatch. Dried fruit
    • Finish
      Long, warming with barrel seasoning and wonderfully mouth-filling

    A beautiful sherry-peat nose, dark fruity-spicy, slightly greasy. Musty cellar, walnut, tobacco

    Malt, prunes, tobacco, dark chocolate. Sweet and bitter is in balance, but oak wort is not too strong. You can feel a bit of youthfulness, a hint of copper on the tip of the tongue. But this is very subtle and the overall picture makes the malt more than six years old.

    Medium length, coffee, subtle dates, ash


    A more than decent whisky, the sherry is not too pushy, the barrel did a good job, I would never blindly assume that it was German whisky. Comes more like a very good blended Islay / Islands malt.
    It's fun! For a top whisky he would need a little more buzz in the aroma for me and the metallic notes are still in the way.
    But that is whining at a high level
