Nose: It is worth to wait a bit to discover the flavors. Freshly poured, the specified 35% grain are noticeable, then develops a rich fruity note that is reminiscent of raspberries, cherries and red currants. The 46 were noticeable at the beginning, then only after very strong panning. The sherry character becomes more and more clear over time and the fruits heavier and darker. Freshly baked almond cookies joined, later finally the nuts.
Taste: Strong onset, oak spice, slight tingling on the side of the tongue, roasted nuts, coffee, dark chocolate, I find 0% grain - the 46% are excellent, the second sip is a little more fruity, but now much darker than in the Nose, more sultana, prunes
Finish: The oak spice comes back, but without being bitter. Dark chocolate with a low cocoa content, strong roasted espresso beans, medium to long and not expected in this price category - if not overly complex- love it

oily, sweet, light tingling. The first approach seems rather flat, gains volume over time. Sherry, oak, spiciness, chocolate, pepper. The alcohol is well integrated.

medium length, chocolate, oak, raisins, slightly bitter

Fruit notes of dark berries. The sherry character is clear. Aromas of nuts and pastries (gingerbread) permeate.
    • Taste
      86 86
Spicy and fruity appearance. In the background creamy with flavors of chocolate and chocolates.
    • Finish
      85 85
A rather short finish, which is chocolatey and slightly spicy.

    nose
The nose is pleasant and immediately a fruity impression of sherry from the barrel, which is over there in the corner of the old carpentry, blows in my direction. Sugar, grapes and raisins soaked in a little stale rum underline the pleasant impression of sherry.
The blended scotch is rather light, somewhat fresh and rather fleeting. Not really bad, but there could be more substance. The slightly sour impression shouldn't necessarily be there for me. Reminds me very much of young OA-Glenfarclas'.

    Mouth / outlet / Nachschmecken
The scotch is rather reserved and superficial at the beginning. But this is the same and the impression changes from slightly sweet to minimally acidic and back again. I find the blended scotch to be rather watery at first, but the impression gradually turns towards pleasantly velvety and quite smooth.
Contrary to expectations, the finish is quite long, a bit peppery and the slightly bitter oak can be heard. The "sherry flavors" can also be found here.
The impressions of the flavors in the mouth are those of typical refill ex-sherry barrels. Not such highlights as you sometimes know from Glenfarclas, but rather the 08/15 direction. You can taste the flavors that are due to the sherry pre-filling of some of the barrels used (typical nuttiness, wine, cold espresso, ...), but the whole thing is rather unspectacular and is for "to be enjoyed casually" (during a conversation or too a cigar) quite nice.

    Conclusion / points:
Yes, the nose is quite nice, but not a complex masterpiece. The bottom line is that this is an acceptable blended scotch that is pleasant to drink, but is not a great addition to a bar. I would always prefer a Glendronach 12.
For me, 85 points actually means that I would buy the whiskey again (if I needed). However, this applies only to a limited extent here. I wouldn't buy it for myself, but the bottle is quite usable for guests, tastings, free samples, etc. I personally lack the depth (which a 12yo could have). Is that due to the grain or simply the barrels used or the composition? I dont know.
The notes now sound worse than the blended scotch. The blend does not want to be a highlight and surely Cadenheads does not want to say that the blend is more complex than it is. This is a bottle that is inexpensive, good quality and the 70cl is a reasonable treat. So all right and for someone looking for a daily dram a good choice.

After a few start-up difficulties, a nice sweet, fruity nose with nice spice, in the mouth he can't deny the existence of blending, but in total that also fits. Nice blend with sherry influence. Good PLV, but without completely convincing me.

Light pleasant blend. Not complex and not very spectacular. But very useful for this price range.
    • Nose
      84 84
Beautiful fruity nose, light raspberries and cherry notes, nuts, almonds.
Alcohol is well integrated for me and hardly noticeable. After some time, hints of pickled fruit come in rum.
    • Taste
      84 84
Light, soft onset, slightly creamy slightly oily, it starts before adding a little more spice. But not really spicy. Something fruity sweet, coffee and chocolate are in the foreground.
    • Finish
      82 82
      Short finish, chocolaty, slightly spicy
it ends. Not very spectacular but quite ok.

Beautiful, fruity nose, good presence in the mouth with a relatively long, dry going finish.
For the price a very good whiskey!

I liked Batch 8 better - this one reminds me a lot of Glendronach 12 from the years 2014/2015 when it was delicious

Nose: Soft sherry, gingerbread, cherry, fermented fruit, banana, rum, raisins, figs, toasted almonds, very pleasant soft nose, in which the alcohol is well integrated. Would guess right away here no Grainanteil. Somehow it also reminds me of gravy with red wine in it.

Taste: can not really classify the first taste, very soft, dark chocolate, many raisins, Schnapspralinen. Really very soft mouthfeel, little start, but that fits in with him somehow. Very sweet and tasty side.

Finish: do not get stuck so much now. The finish is actually quite short, milk chocolate, yes, but a little spices on the second sip, again the chocolates, cherry and gingerbread come back.

Very soft and tasty blend, you can drink well with very good PLV. But I could imagine that he is too monotonous for one or the other.
