    An obviously quite young whiskey - the alcohol is not completely involved. It shows spiciness (pepper), but little barrel character.
    In addition, at around € 38.00, it is far too expensive in my opinion!
    [Color] = straw;
    • Nose
      Fruits (apricots, grapes, grapefruit), trace of vanilla;
    • Taste
      fruity, spicy start, noticeably pepper, alcohol not incorporated, wine aromas, apricots, peaches, obviously very young;
    • Finish
      short, floral, heather, slightly bitter;

    I was a guest at Belgian whisky shop TastToe in Boortmeerbeek in September 2019 at a fantastic Teeling masterclass with Alex Chasko, their Master Distiller. One of the whiskies that we got to try was this Single Pot Still, of which the mashbill consists of 50% malted and 50% unmalted barley. Obviously this is very young whiskey, only three years old. I did not make any extensive notes at the time, but will rectify that today.

    Clearly young and very grainy nose with some young apples and a hint of apricots. The bit rough, to be honest. Hint of white chocolate and melon, but not much else.

    Rather light and clearly young, but at the same time it shows interesting notes of apricots, barley, yeast and new wood, still a tad new make-y, but as I have a soft spot for new make it is no bother.

    Short and mildly bitter finish.

    I admit that this is one of the least of the batches I have tried so far, it gives the most naked impression, if you know what I mean. But it does give you the opportunity to taste the style of the house.
