Strong alcohol straight from the nose.
Fruity notes ( citrus , pineapple ) and pepper in the mouth.
Finish is still very strong and long lasting with the same fruits .
Not a bad dram but not unforgettable.

Orange, custard cream, apple, pear, barley sugar, vanilla, pineapple, grapefruit, nice and fruity

Very fruity and powerful whisky. Apples, oranges, pineapple, it's all in there. Very pleasant dram.
    • Nose
      87 87
Very fruity, ripe apples, citrus. Grassy. Quite some alcohol, but not disturbing at all. Oranges.
    • Taste
      88 88
Powerful, quite some pepper, intense. Fruity, oranges, apples, tropical fruits, pineapple. Full body, oily structure.
    • Finish
      88 88
More smooth now, but still pretty some power. Fruity with some slight bitter note now, grapefruits. Oranges again. Pretty long finish.

One of the best whiskies I ever tasted, was a 43y old Longmorn bottled by GM from the days long gone. I tried this sample to see if I would find just a little bit of that 1968 magic. Unfortunately I must keep dreaming on.
    • Nose

For sure the best part of this dram. But first this needs quite some air, time and especially water. Initially pretty dark and alcoholic, but by adding time, air and water, it opens up. Great Speyside fruity sweetness.
    • Taste
      87 87
Full body and oily. Like in the nose a typical Speyside structure. Fruitiness and sweetness again. Nice but not great.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium long, with some bitterness in the end.

Conclusion: a bit disappointing; especially given the price of 170 Euro. There are great Glen Elgins out there doing the same trick for much less.

Whisky is quite pleasant for people who like to feel "strong". Alcohol is visible, but it does not interfere with the pleasure of communing with this drink.
A drop of water made the aroma softer, and the alcohol was completely forgotten. The taste in my opinion has become smoother, there is milk chocolate, but the honey bitterness is still noticeable only in the form of a syrup for a sore throat. The finish is already completely different, more chocolatey, less warming, but much more pleasant. The alcohol is completely imperceptible. General note 88 points With water, this whisky gains another 1.5 points.
    • Nose
      88 88
sweet, slightly alcoholic, earthy, green cereal, cookie-vanilla, raisins
    • Taste
      89 89
quite strong, intense, gingerbread, sweet, honey, young oak, chocolate
    • Finish
      87 87
long, sharp, oily, warming tip with a hint of dark chocolate and honey bitterness.

On the nos - barley (fresh mowed grass) honey sweet, alcohol is too punchy.
On the palate there's nothing going on interesting, not to complex, alcohol and sweetness
Overall, we would say it's much younger whisky...

    ***
    ????: white wine
????: sweet and waxy, a little gingerbread, a little perfumy, light, not very volatile, very gingerbread! A bit of burnt breadcrumbs, varnish burn, I like it! Has something else that I have a hard time calling, such perfumy sweetness,
????: strong, sweet, smooth, nicely arranged, slightly biting, fleshy, pretty cool! Quite a long concrete dram!
????: warming and quite long, comes back in waves with sweetness,

Pretty cool item! Maybe even more than pretty cool! ;) Interesting nose, specific but delicate body and quite long finish. Yummy!
