Whisky Reviews for Bowmore 12-year-old
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 78.58 points
- Half empty bottle, uncorked 38 days ago. In the past four weeks, there has been a very nice development in the empty bottle: gentle mix of smoke, sweetness and quite complex variety of flavors.
Sweet vanilla honey fruits bonfire lime sherry
mildly soft smoke and peat notes
Sweet vanilla caramel campfire honey fruit oil oak spices orange later there are bitter tones and dark chocolate
very round and soft, balanced and easy to drink, there is a lot to taste
Oak smoke spices sweetness
just medium length, getting a little drier, pleasantly warming
- Perhaps the ideal entry into the world of smoky whiskys.
Overwhelmed nobody and for about € 26.00
a nicely matured, pleasantly smoky Bowmore.
maritime (salty), citrusy, fresh, pleasant smoke;
first behave, then smoke, ashes, sweetness (citrus fruits, lemons), herbs and salt;
short to medium length finish, oak and cold smoke linger;
- complex for affordable entry-level whisky; very nice if you like some smoke.
clear smoke! Citrus fruits and other (light) fruits. Light honey sweetness. Also hides some campfire (may come from the smoke). Very light vanilla aromas. Light oak aromas. Smells pleasant (nothing phenolic).
Smoke! Spices and light fruits. Recognize sweet and sherry. Something chocolatey with light oak. Very slightly oily and malty (very little).
smoky (also a little campfire), has something of smoked ham (very present and can still be tasted hours later). Dark chocolate. Slightly malty tone. It also has something of coffee espresso. Long finish.
