A sherry keg and (only) 12 years, and a Hazelburn brandy becomes a really great sherry whisky. Despite a small flurry of smoke on his tongue, he is consistent with the sherry-hazelburn profile. Class.
    • Nose
      89 89
Clear sherry note with raisins, dried figs and dates, leather, flavored pipe tobacco. Right at the beginning already a pleasant (spicy) note, which combines in the most pleasant way with the Sherrynoten. Cinnamon, coriander, chervil, marjoram, tarragon, nutmeg. A great spicy sherry nose.
    • Taste
      89 89
The palate, a reflection of the nose - you get exactly what you have previously sniffed. Slides sherrysüß on the tongue, strong and creamy, but leaves at the same time a tasty spice trail on the tongue. Although Hazelburn is considered smoke-free, but a certain small smoky note one might think, to taste. Or is that wood? No, not really. The spices here - in the company of tart herbs - wear something more than in the nose. Menthol is coming. Dark chocolate, bitter honey, sugar beet syrup, malt.
    • Finish
      88 88
Although the menthol wants to pull the malt in a breezy direction, it stays creamy and fat on the tongue for a long time. The grapes are joined in the finish a few cherries, the spices (see nose) are always there.

I wanted it that way. Could have just take a bright ex-bourbon from the cage ;-) I'm already on such dark things, but in the mouth is already hard on the border, in the nose and then in the end, then more likely my case ,

yes, of course you smell the sherry influence, raisins, dark fruits, some tobacco, but not as intense as the color and the key data suggest, but over time it opens up and the impression becomes more intense, some wood, the tobacco increases , you could almost call it smoke, some mint, chocolate, bittersweet, in combination with the mint it goes in the direction of After Eight, after the first sip I have Maggikraut, quite clearly, but then lies down again
    • Taste
      86 86
oily, wow, here heavy sherry, wood, oak, almost syrup, nuts, raisins, wow is thick, a touch of liquorice, yes, here are a few drops Maggi, which is already a bit overloaded with sherry
    • Finish
      88 88
He takes more and more back, dominating the nuts, slightly harsh, still raisin, and then emerges out of nowhere the mint, long-lasting and refreshing
