Sadly a big disappointment, unbalanced and sharp, a lot of pepper in the aftertaste... in a blind tasting with 10 other CCB this scored last... bit sad to see how man weak single casks have been released in last months. it seems, the good old CCB style from their older casks is gone, also recently released Paris, London lack complexity and I have the feeling, now the 2nd and 3rd row casks getting bottled, the outstanding 1st row seems to be emptied or they keep the top notch in house for longer maturation.

so for drinkers, this is not recommended at all. for collectors: hmm, they didn't even provide a box, how poor is that.

Interesting nose, but the taste songs are not quite convincing. The usual grape notes are missing and he is a bit too bitter.

  3. nallacam scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Goes 100% blind to me as Scottish whisky.
Air is good for him, it mainly brings out the aromas of the stout finish.
The currently traded price of over 1000 € is absurd and does not correspond to the quality.

The alcohol is immediately noticeable, and the oak is clearly visible. Sweet basic character, freshly felled fir wood with resin. Ripe fruits. Over time, there are tropical hints, dried mango and a hint of passion fruit.
There is a freshness of mint, herbs and chocolate.
There is always a slight edge to everything.

      A dry start.
Intense, with dried fruit, a clear minerality and light floral notes.
A note of sherry, whereby I think more of a bourbon barrel for the first occupancy.
    • Finish
      90 90
The finish is extremely dry and long. It remains a grainy note and at the very end the stout barrel makes itself felt with malty and hoppy notes.
