  1. DerDennis! scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Very strong and complex whisky, both in the smell, as well as on the palate. Great long finish.
In my opinion the alcohol inhibits the whisky a bit. With water he opens up more, overall it gets milder and for me even better.

Overall, a good malt. For my taste but minimal to sour-bitter and to present musty note of fermented fruits. Good, but the sample is enough.

Anyone who likes trail mix and nougat can not miss the whisky. Very strong and harmonious aromas. A few drops of water are good for him.
    • Nose
A nice mix of different nuts and raisins makes me immediately think of trail mix. In addition I have dried dates, red and white grapes, and a white wine aroma, dry and slightly sour. Then a very spicy oak aroma spreads, accompanied by some lemon abrasion, which gives the nose a certain freshness, also a slight maritime touch contributes to it. The nose is worn by. A mix of vanilla and forest honey. The alcohol does not bother, but is still not perfectly integrated.
    • Taste
Strong onset, oily mouthfeel. The lemon makes the beginning, then the nuts and raisins, again the Studenfenfutter. The oak comes, spicy / peppery and very pleasant. And mix with the nuts to sweet nougat. Again, the alcohol is not optimally involved.
    • Finish
Medium. The nuts are very strong in the finish and together with the very pleasant oak again strong, dark nougat. The citrus notes and raisins continue to be present.
