- Delicious dram, and dangerously tasty, the sherry influence is subtle, the smoke is surprisingly noticeable. Not too weak with 43%. Nice, easy drinking dram.
Begins with various citrus fruits, grapefruit and blood orange, then a strong herbal note, and a hint of smoke oak. After some time, the sherry flavors unfold with a few dried fruits and walnuts. Overall, a right-reserved nose.
Easy onset, silky mouthfeel. A nice mix of the red citrus fruits, and now a lot more dried fruit, raisins, dates. In addition a beautiful honey sweetness, and slowly becoming stronger oak. The smoke is still subtle, but clearly felt.
Short finish. Astringent. The citrus note is still there, but now more in the form of lemon abrasion. The oak is getting stronger and brings with it dark chocolate and espresso.
- Blend of Macallan, Highland Park, Glenrothes, Tamdhu and Bunnahabhain
