Peaty irish whiskey? Not yet. This Connemara with no age statement is not a great whiskey, but enjoyable.
    • Nose
I can feel some peaty notes, very few.. But there is something in the background, a bitter aroma..
    • Taste
The taste is alright, a hint of peat. But here comes the strange flavor again, old socks maybe.
    • Finish
The finish is medium long. Smooth and with a peppery end.

quite remarkable how the profile changed over the years.
    • Nose
      76 76
pear, lemon, little bit of smoke and peat, quite gentle, compared to the current (2020 - 2021) expressions.
    • Taste
      72 72
soft, velvety, pear, ash, bit of smoke, lemon, rubbery
    • Finish
      69 69
rubbery, peat, bit of ash, vanilla, not that pleasant, and luckily quite short

Just on this one. Not my cup of tea. The nose is nice, quite a nice sweetness that comes through.
However, the taste is disappointing. the nose. Was expecting more. Sweetness comes through in the taste but is quickly surpassed by a licorice-like, anise-like taste and in my opinion the peat - if there is one - is also lost.

    • Nose
Slightly smoky, balanced with slightly floral, but also slightly plastic-like.
    • Taste
Slightly smoky, with vanilla; reasonably flat whiskey.

Peat dominates burnt rubber, fruity, quite light, interesting.

For me, it is an disgusting whiskey. It tastes like plastic. The only whiskey that I don` t like. Sorry.

Nose: Smokey peatiness balanced by heather floralness with hints of honey and oak. Taste: Silky smooth with a honey sweet start, followed by more complex aromas of malt and fruit giving way to the intensifying full bodied peat. A well-balanced yet complex taste with vanilla oak notes. Finish: A long and glorious finish with golden honey notes and deep peat spreading across the mouth and palate. Hints of chocolate vanilla and oak leave a mouth-watering taste!

Peat, peat, peat, peat... and what else? In my humble opinion lacks of something else behind the peat. Anyway, I won´t say no to a dram of it. An average whiskey that can be enjoyable for a non demanding palate.

    • Nose
Sweet, pure peat, vanilla and flower tones - one of the deepest and most comprehensive Irish scents.
    • Taste
The taste is again very sweet, peat, soft honey and oily, wonderfully smoky.
    • Finish
It dries and gets a bit of oak morsel, but the peat rolls on.

I liked it, but there was something missing.  Maybe Ireland is not ready for the peated variety.  it sure can`t hold a candle to Islay!
