    - The nose is initially dominated by fresh oranges and honey, but there is certainly also cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as jasmine. Delicious. The mouthfeel is viscous. The taste is subtly spicy with ginger root and cinnamon, but there is also coconut, almond and cedar wood. The oranges also make an encore. The aftertaste shows the same kind of spiciness and lingers for a long time.

    Appearance: Pale to medium orange.

Nose: Huge spicy rye nose. Big vanilla, plus menthol, dill, herbs, grass, mint. Apple.

Palate: Vanilla cream, apple, herbs, dill, mint. Very herbal and spicy.

    Finish: Minty, spicy, long.

With Water: Sweeter and creamier, with more pronounced spices.

Overall: A pretty huge rye. Really quite interesting, super floral and spicy, herbal. Pretty fine on its own, though would love to make some mixed drinks with this.

Today in the glass a Koval Rye Single Barrel. The whiskey was distilled from 100% rye and bottled at a weak drinking strength of 40% vol. The whiskey in the glass shows itself in dark copper and with medium viscosity.
An exciting bottling that I would try again at any time.

A very fruity and spicy note when you first smell it. Wow, that's exciting! Very ripe lychees meet liquorice, tender apple blossoms meet fresh birch wood, spruce resin meets roasted almonds. Soft vanilla and white currants come together with milk chocolate. The first perception is fun from the first sip!
    • Taste

Almost a faint bit of tingling on the palate, a spicy note and distinct sweetness on the palate. Had it not been for a palatable eucalyptus clay, I would have spoken of herbal lemonade. The palate is pleasantly filled and pampered with dried bananas, maple syrup, ripe quince, sandalwood and light ginger spiciness. However, the aromas are fuzzy and difficult to distinguish from one another, but I find the bottling very promising.
    • Finish

The finish is rather short, characterized by fresh ginger notes and a subsequent popcorn sweetness. You spices are restrained, but still exciting. Maybe one day this bottling will continue with a higher alcohol content? It would be exciting to experiment with water.
