An ultra-sweet Glengoyne. Very much to my liking. Good cask selection by Jack Wieber.
    • Nose
Lots of fragrance. Sweet fruitiness of peach and apricot. Caramel fudge. Tiramisu. Polished wood. Summer flowers.
    • Taste
Creamy with full mouth texture. Honey and vanilla. Marzipan and marshmellows. Light oakiness.
    • Finish
Long and warming. A little pepper and ginger. Some cinnamon as well.

A magnificent glengoyne. This almond paste is to die for.
The fruit is sublime. At the level of the DD 1972 goat head.

    • Nose
      A marzipan delight. Superb.
      Magnificent exoticism. Passion, mango.
      Peach apricot.
      Camphor, thyme. Caramel, Harlequin.
Light floral side. A little orange peel.
    • Taste
In the mouth it is perfectly balanced.
Mango, papaya, banana, pineapple. A little passion fruit.
      Vanilla, honey, elderflower.
      Light potpourri. Licorice.
    • Finish
Very long finish on candied fruit. Cherry, lemon, mango. Gorgeous. Butter cookie.

A fruit bomb - almost too ripe - but still delicious
    • Nose
      91 91
Tons of tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, overripe fruits, whiffs of solvent, honey - great!
    • Taste
      92 92
Oily, fruity, more tropical fruits, good sweetness, spices, little pepperish, also pears and apples - very good!
    • Finish
      90 90
      Long, warm, fruity, glueish notes

  4. Baanaanaabob scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

Very fruity. Apricot vanilla honey marzipan toffee, not the usual dark sherried, excellent!

sergeColour: pale gold. Nose: not one of these old more or less sherried Glengoynes
at all, rather a lightly aromatic kind at first nosing, before a sudden burst of
tinned pineapples, apricots and even litchis does happen. Quite some vanilla as
well, honey, quince jelly and then notes of orange blossom water and Turkish
delights (especially rose-flavoured ones). More and more emphatic, with a
perfectly mastered oakiness providing a perfect backbone to the whole. Vanilla,
cinnamon spread and plum pie (quetsches). A perfect nose, I must say, kind of
Cleopatrian as some friend would say. With water: didn’t move an inch, which is
great. Mouth (neat): extreme fruitiness! Gooseberries, apricots, pineapples,
dried papayas, ripe juicy oranges… Almost ‘too much’, such is this baby’s
fruitiness. With water: a little more complex, with added dried fruits. Fig
liqueur? Excellent. Finish: long, fruity, honeyed and slightly resinous and
liquoricy. A sin! Comments: an old, spectacular fruitbomb. One could drink
litres of this, it’s totally excellent.

Very nice profile, with lots of fruit and less light notes giving the whole thing a lot of thickness. Tasted blind.
    • Nose
What a fruity! It is clearly very exotic but also some rare red fruits. Mint tip, cream, butter, caramel, milk. Aeration drier notes like hazelnut powder, foal powder. A little (a little bit) alcoholic. With water, it's even better! We are no longer bothered by alcohol and a beautiful old wood wraps the whole.
    • Taste
Always so many fruits here. Alcohol is moreover perfectly integrated. Spices that raise the whole, a small trace herbals (green grass). More pastry notes. After dilution, we obviously lose power, but the spices and the wood retain whisky a beautiful structure.
    • Finish
More spicy than fruity, a little marked by alcohol. Desiccate then.

    Excellent
    • Nose
Premier nez sur le sable chaud. A l'aération, une avalanche de
fruits : abricots, mangue, papaye...
