Good, polished, solid, round malt. Not overly complex, but very tasty. Fine old style sherry.

Behavior. Geraniums, walnuts, fine sherry, leather, fudge, polished oak. A few herbs and some old orange jam, apricots. Pretty deep.
    • Taste
      89 89
Silent start. Walnuts full, fine warm fruit (apricots) behind, fine spices (ginger), fudge, fine sherry, leather. Slightly peppery. Tobacco. Medium density, concentrated, polished and elegant.
    • Finish
      88 88
Medium-long, herbs and nuts, fine sherry, fudge. A tick of smoke. Dry. Harmonious.

Already a crazy experience such a young vintage from half a century back, you realize how much patience you must have and probably depending on the filling also just lucky that you can tickle out something else.
    • Nose
Phew, 80% Old Bottle flavor in the nose, old parchment pages, walnut, macadamia, porcini mushroom, ancient, dusty furniture, as if you were sniffing a mummy, with a lot of hand warmth and time he comes back to life, blood orange, orange zest, nice leather, red apple, coffee beans, still 40-50% dust, dark chocolate, old tobacco
    • Taste
Hui, real fruit bomb compared to nose, grapefruit, red and green apple, pineapple, mango, cherries, plums, blood orange, peach and forest honey, pine nuts, a real chilli-catch is there, dark malt, very full after a few decades past , Rosemary, fennel, nettle tea
    • Finish
Apple peel, lightly roasted malt, leather, pineapple with shell, grapefruit, medium-long

http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=310 Colour: Amber / Deep Gold Nose: Heavy voluminous nose! Sweet oranges, red grapes, some balsamic, chocolate, leather, salt and a truckload of honey. Waxy and underground metallic dull. Getting earthier with dry cardboard and almond flavors. Taste: Sparkling salty with notes of black pepper, orange liqueur, peppermint, nuts and nougat, but also raisins, tart herbs and oak. From the beginning an "invigorating" taste that stays constantly good and does not waver. Finish: Medium long - fresh, salty and fruity dry. Actually, with the notes of taste decaying. Nut and wood intensify towards the end and accompany the dark chocolate notes to the end. 91 points N: 91P / G: 91P / F: 90P
