All in all, a very decent whisky, also quite as Highland Park to identify. Compared to most single casks I have tasted in recent years, it performs extremely well. The balance is first class and the flavors are not complex but straightforward and harmonious.

The first breath is clear-sighted, still immature apples and vanilla. Already in the second breath is freshly ground grain. After a short while, the whisky becomes slightly buttery. He gets some time from me now. After plenty of time here are still immature next to already overripe apples and apple juice, the butteriness has declined somewhat, but still clearly present, smoke is only present in homeopathic doses and with a little imagination is there maybe a heather. Lemon citrus and orange peel are added with heat, clearly. The smoke is now also to find much more vanilla and caramel, the heather is now more than an illusion and all apple derivatives have disappeared.
    • Taste
      91 91
In the mouth it starts dry (not bitter), almost dusty, then comes with the alcohol, the sweetness, come back then peat and herbs that complement perfectly with the honey sweetness. Some acidity gives a citrus note in the back of the mouth. The mouthfeel is oily and the alcohol is late, but quite neat.
    • Finish
      89 89
The finish is medium long, it warms the chest significantly, the sweetness lasts longer than the tart notes, in the end a certain ashiness paired with strength on the tongue back.
