...and this dram fulfills its destiny perfect. It is of a flawless but rather simple modern sherry profile that is very quaffable, indeed. Something to sip away when you are not in the mood to stress your olfactory cells and taste buds with complex investigations.
The colour is amontillado sherry and the nose offers a modern creamy-toffee sherry profile without off-notes (certainly no sulphur). It is rather simple but I like to sniff it exactly for that simplicity - it does not stress my olfactory cells but it is delicate.
The taste is about the same - simple and tasty. It provides a flawless modern sherry that leaves enough space for the malt's flavours and the appropriate but never dominating wooden notes. Very quaffable, I like it! Water releases chalky-waxy aromas in the nose but it flattens the taste quickly - I like the neat dram better.
The dram arrives warming and a little coating on the palate with a minor drying feeling that is not distracting. The finish is of medium length and adds some bitter herbal flavours that are welcomed. Again, there is a slight but never distracting dryness towards the end.
