- A whisky exactly to my taste!
A lot of smoke, a lot of red wine, some Laddie-typical cheese notes.
Horny bastard! Smoke, sulfur, bacon, sea breeze ... After some time and the first sip, it opens and becomes sweeter and wonderfully winey-fruity.
Much pressure. Smoldering smoke. Salty, parmesan. Tartaric acid. Burnt caramel.
Warm and long. The smoke remains, but becomes milder. Dry back out.
A very interesting profile on the nose: fruity and savory, quite some barbeque smoke with a mild peat note, pancakes with bacon and syrup, cherries, some peanuts, a hint of cow stable, a funkiness hinting to sulfur (though definitely not the sharp sulfur note of some sherry monsters) spicy and peppery with a dusty wood note at the back. Reminds me of several sherry matured Port Charlotte bottlings, but more subtle on the peat and with some extra fruit notes.
Bam, a full on flavour attack! Some bonfire smoke, very spicy, with black pepper, chili peppers (maybe just a bit sharp) cherries, sour red currants, pancakes, black treacle, nutty and meaty, salted bacon.
Long: dark fruit syrup, warming chili peppers, liquorice, toasted wood and quite musty at the back of the throat.
- not my case at all
the lazy eggs neee
I would have liked more influence from the barrel
minimal smoke, cowshed, chemical grade
with water: something from the barrel comes through
strong on the palate
chemical touch, rotten eggs
rotten eggs, oak
- Just a fat, shameless whinesky with peat leg. Perfect bottling time!
