A whisky very indicative of the times. I used to get “good enough, rather than best” on my report cards as a kid. I’ll slap that tag on this dram. It cannot be better than 4 years old. It’s a total hot mess, and yet someone said, we need a release and we are fresh out of everything. Hey! How about we finish that 3 year old in a wine cask for a year and call it “fruit basket”. Don’t put an age statement on it either, no one will know the difference. I’m sorry but to me this belongs no where near a decent malt score. 1oz was plenty for me. Next!

A very hot nose, a wall of white pepper and rubbing alcohol. Behind it some strawberry jelly, screaming for water. With water it becomes softer, but still unimpressive.

Palate is better than the nose, but still very hot. Lots of white pepper, rather harsh alcohol burn. But past that red fruits in jam form, herbs and milk chocolate. With lots of water it becomes overly sweet, syrupy.

White pepper, hot alcohol, fruit syrup (strawberry, raspberry, cranberry) vanilla. With water artificial strawberry syrup, becomes astringent as well.
