Sadly - for me - it does not hit a chord.
Yes, you can taste the sherry, but all the bad things from sherry... like asparagus notes
(speaking cheap real sherry, not ex-sherry whiskies).
Rarely get those in whiskies itself, but here I found it quite plainly and it distracted me greatly from the - otherwise - solid made whisky.
Kept 10cl from a bottle share and did not enjoy my 5cl part of it (wife thinks the same, but she is a yay or nay).
Gonna gift the rest to someone and ask for another opinion.
Nose: cheap sherry notes (asparagus), hay, light chocolate
Mouth: alcohol is not overwhelming, but noticable, peppery
Finish: wood, some rotten vegetables (thats what killed it for me)
Mentionable: most of the participants of the bottle split did not respond with such a negative feedback, so please read mine with some caution (despite 80 is still quite good whisky)
