Fairly complex and decently balanced, this GlenAllachie isn't a classic example of Pedro Ximenez matured whisky.
    • Nose
Sultanas, raspberry and polished oak. Hints of cherry bonbons (is that a Dutch thing?), triple sec and elderflower as well. A touch of vanilla and cinnamon too.
    • Taste
Orange liqueur, wood shavings and a whiff of mint. Some blackberries and overripe banana, with a touch of chocolate and fermented grapes. Cloves too.
    • Finish
Somewhat burnished. Drying. Medium in length.

Nose: raisins, dried apricots. Spice cabinet. In the background, then malty. Something alcoholic. Makes me otherwise also the impression that he tolerate some water.

In the mouth rum grape nut. Artificial rum aroma, pine resin. Few barrel spicy as spice-spicy (?!). Cappucino with a lot of sugar.

Finish shortly. Short raisins, then only bitter. Well.

With water: nose rounder. Even more appetizing. Fresh bread. Mouth: Too lax. Fashionable forest floor. Black bread.

Tastes like PX. Not much can go wrong, but it's not great for me in the real sense of the word. Although this one has not been completely covered, there is just little going on behind the sherry.

Of course, when Billy Walker brings a whisky to the market, the gentle Glendronach lover becomes attentive and curious. But the beginning is difficult ...

Raspberries! White lilac blossoms and almost a little rum from Guadeloupe. A floral sweetness like white clover, caramel and vanilla, popcorn ... Someone mentioned vanilla Kipferl ... Fits!
    • Taste

Very soft and oily at first, some malt, blossom honey, hints of yellow fruit, slightly overripe banana and milk chocolate
    • Finish
      84 84
Sweet finish with a sparkling mint on the palate, then some honey and orange on the palate, but no bitterness. Mid-length finish

He is not 'typical' PX. We especially had candied orange, or blood orange. In the finish I had nice nut flavors.

Who is on milk chocolate (me), finds the really good (me).

Very sweet, milk chocolate, vanilla kipper, pastry notes, roasted almonds, a bit grainy rear out, then comes back the bourbon glue a little over
    • Taste
      86 86
Sweet and spicy, again extremely milk chocolate, actually like hot Kaba cocoa with milk, also so creamy, the alcohol makes neat steam
    • Finish

What a surprise: Milk chocolate with oak, not very long, but he has a nice hold on the pharynx
