- Classic but gorgeous Springbank. Crazy value for money - 27y Springbank below 500€ is not normal nowadays!
- Lovely. Not sour cask at all. Not overly complex, just a meditational dram.
Classic Springbank notes in my book. Hint of peat. Salty. Liquerice. Blue berries. Evolving into red berries eventually. Love the texture. Very smooth and oily.
Some Orange peel and Apples. A tad spicy to.
Not the Springbank sourness / sulphury notes you can find in these 90's casks. Love it
91-92 p. Cheers
- Great - voluminous and complex nose - what intense color for a Borbon barrel - be careful with water, exactly 1 drop tickles even more complexity
Intense tropical fruits, papaya, mango, oranges, but also flora in full bloom, wild chamomile - with a slight smokiness behind, as well as salt and maritime notes
Orange peel, papaya juice, fully ripe apricots, Campino orange candy, chamomile extract, a strong boost of grain before dry oak takes the place
Bitter orange oil, tropical fruit concentrate, spicy wood, hints of smoky, mossy and maritime - long
- This Springbank knows how to please. Excellent matured, complex and easy to drink. Really excellent.
Voluminous, dense, fruity sweet and very aromatic in the glass. The different flavors are strongly interwoven and hardly separable. The old age is very good for this Springbank!
Overripe pear, quince, fermented yellow fruit. After a while also a little lemon and orange peel. Smoke is no longer perceptible as such, but has been transformed into savory and spicy aromas - I find furniture polish, wax, light solvent, some shower foam and beautiful spice from the wood. The "dirty smell" often known by Springbank I can not find in this bottling. The alcohol stings slightly in the nose.
Oily, full, sweet yellow fruits, light smoke, very spicy, wax, furniture polish, a little oak and some coffee.
Full and long. Creamy, mouthfeel, beeswax, the sweet, overripe fruits together with cappuchino. After the second gorge a bit bitter - espresso and maybe some salt.
- delicious part - dense, heavy yellow-fruity fruit bomb - the flavor profile could also be over 30 years old - I really like it very much
Sweet and dense, only minimally dirty, deliciously acidic base note with subtle notes of fermented overripe fruit, it quickly becomes deliciously fruity - heavy dried fruit - very sweet and dense - dates, figs, dried mango, orange peel, mint, laurel, light wood notes - not too complex - very nice sweet and sour balance - floral notes, black tea
honey-sweet and dense - sparkling with a beautiful tasty mineral palate - great dried fruits like in the nose, gooseberries, melon, star fruit, cucumber, physalis - a light Camembert note and rotten damp wood - but only subtle and not disturbing
Pepper, mushrooms, tree sap, lemon, herbs - long and creamy
