Smell: raisins, dates and oranges. Appealingly sweet, brown sugar, with a little waxy, some leather and subtle spicy oak notes.
Taste: It grabs vigorously, but not unpleasantly. Sweet sherry tones spread. Add some nut, chocolate and orange peel. The waxy Clynelish character comes through discreetly.
Finish: Pleasantly long, dry and oak spice spreads without being bitter.
Conclusion: Nice age and well matured whisky, which has retained its character and is bottled in a pleasant drinking strength.
