A pretty full-bodied dram, which at first glance can expect a good volume. Undiluted, the alcohol stands out first, then the scent of marzipan, milk chocolate and caramel. A light flint is heard as well as toasted wood. Powerful and complex.
With water reduced to 45% vol., Vegetable notes are added. Violets, thyme and the typical smell of beeswax. Then very nice honey and yellow fruits: mirabelles and apricots. Very nice nose! -
Undiluted, the Clynelish is powerful, very oily and with vegetal notes. A strong Sherryton as well as the brennische-typical taste of beeswax can be found. Caramel sweetness and a hint of bitter note appear on the palate. Nutty and herbaceous.
With a little water, the dram shows full and voluminous, with rich sherry, great herbal notes and tantalizing caramel. The obligatory beeswax remains here as well. Flint is to taste and supports the oak of the barrel. A very exciting arc of flavors. -
Medium to long, honey, sherry and wax remain discreet on the palate, herbal notes can be found here again.
