    • Nose
Red apple with something herbalem. Grains of bread crust, semig. Fine tingling. Maybe even cinnamon. An artificial note hovers over it, not quite rubber ...
    • Taste
Pleasant sweetness and margarine on the tongue tip. Not fruity hints, which are more in the direction Hefeweizenbier. Later something pleasant black pepper. Surprisingly light aromas, yet powerful. Could guess at 54%.
    • Finish
      Bread dough? Cooling slightly.

Flawless whisky, tap a sherry finish. However, I don't have the tension for a top ranking. Probably not that young at all.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

Is it crazy how your senses sometimes play tricks on you at blind tastings, or is it the other way around? I had the whisky in the glass again after the clarification and with the best will in the world I couldn't find the sherry, which was never there either. Was it the color? Was it the subconscious association of sherry with Bunnahabhain that the subconscious recognized? Questions upon questions ...

Fresh and sherry fruits, strong, also slightly mineral and somewhat floral, this is how it presents itself immediately after pouring. After a while, the fresh fruits have disappeared, there are still a few apples in the background, otherwise the sherry dominates. Then salt, a little sweat and pears pickled in schnapps, and occasionally caramel. Movement wipes everything away except for a herbal note. Warmth briefly brings the apples forward again before the herbs take over again.

After the dissolution, a strong caramel note now dominates over the entire length. Cooked fruits are still there, but no longer look like the dried fruits of a sherry bottling. Otherwise, the notes above continue to apply.

Very strong start, herbs and some fruit at the front, plus honey. Dense mouthfeel, slightly creamy. There is a clear load of tannins to the rear. In the second sip more fruit acid at the front, overall more balanced than in the first sip.
    • Finish

Dries clearly in the finish and warms up significantly. The finish is quite long, drying until the end. In the second sip it doesn't dry off as much, now a certain sweetness remains until the end.
