Had this one today in Limburg. Not convinced at all of this bottling. Expected much more from this Irish Malt. It ihas all typical fruits and flavours, but this one is not one of the best Bottlings from 1989. Will try it tomorrow again but the 1975 Maltbarn was the Malt of the day.
Fresh and aromatic. A good combination of fruits and fresh cut grass. Not overtly fruity like a few other Irish I've tried, but plenty good enough. Solid 90 points on the nose.
Initial taste is that of pepper and oak spice. The fruits come out at midpalate onwards. Definitely not a fruit bomb.
Definitely too oaky. Should have been bottled at least a couple years earlier. Again, this ain't bad, but from tasting other irish in the past, I know of its potential, and this doesn't quite reach it.
