He needs time in the glass, at least 30 minutes, then the scarce 65% but surprisingly well involved.
It reminds me, by the slightly earthy note, of a barrel of whisky broker (Cask 1427), which was also filled in 2005, but this note was much stronger there.
Not a typical fruit sherry cask, rather an old library where coffee was drunk and cigar smoked on a leather couch.
I love this kind of sherrycasks as they mean variety.

Here you have old leather with a proper patina on it, lots of chocolate and tobacco, pretzel sticks, beechnuts, a bit wet soil and coffee beans join it.
The whole paired with a nice malty sweetie.
Dark heavy fruits (in the form of sweetened dates, raisins & plum jam) try, but fail to penetrate properly.
The Laddiecharakter is indeed quite overrun but still recognize, then comes some orange zest added.
      Really great nose!

He pushes neatly, like in the nose with a lot of chocolate; the dark bittersweet fraction with high cocoa content.
Then it gets a bit nutty (freshly cracked walnuts and Brazil nuts), plus some acidity and a slight bitter note, in addition a decent portion of tobacco as before in the nose.
Overall, very warm, full-bodied and dry.
The palate is really great, albeit a balancing act at the same time.

Dry, and here also some oak, which I had almost nothing in the nose and on the palate.
The bittersweet chocolate and the other old flavors remain sticky for a long time

Premature rating from my side (1,5 cl from a sample bottle directly after eating very spicy food 60 minutes earlier). 88 Points.
But my tounge was on fire because of it's high abv%. Could be corrected even more points up... it delivers quite alot and I only spent 15 minutes with it.

(it's somewhat funny, I defend my 88.. EIGHTY EIGHT - ! - rating because its the lowest)

Edit: Rating went up to 90. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a dram with 50% abv beforehand, then let it rest for quite some time in the glass.
It has dark chocolate, leather and sherry to it.
It is quite harsh, but damn, it is very good.
I am very glad I got a bottle plus a sample.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this private bottling out of Poland. It's spectacular.
The nose is molten butterscotch studded with all the dried fruits. The alcohol is so well integrated you'd never guess the hazmat-level ABV. It smells "thick" if that makes any sense, I haven't experienced another whisky like this and I'm at a loss to describe it more effectively.
The palate is a cascade of stewed dark fruit but the sweet malt is still there along with that touch of Bruichladdich buttermilk. The ABV does come through now with a punch of heat, but the flavours are so big that you almost don't notice. Everything feels highly concentrated, so it's very much like a boozy fruit rollup.
Finish is loooong. Like, crazy long. The fruit sticks around and is joined by some nice leather and a really interesting flinty, earthy minerality that stayed with me until I brushed my teeth over an hour later.
    This is one gorgeous whisky.

Inside shady library, room full of old books, heavy wooden shelves bending under their's weight, there is a vast chesterfield couch and a man sitting on, with a book in his hand and cherry liquor in the other. A bar of dark chocolate and a smouldering cigar that has been put on ashtray lie on the table. There is a single light casting golden reflexes, warming up this mysterious inside. There is something incredible in this place. The smell. It is heavy, full of dark cherries, dark chocolate, tobacco, old leather, old wood, and dust...
It's a great whisky. Great Bruichladdich, a bit overwhelmed style by sherry hogshead, but stil great.
    TTOW, well done!

Dark chocolate, dark cherry, tobacco, old leather and old wood, cherry liquor, raisins, dates.
There are also some notes that hasn't been mentioned yet: wet wood, wet soil, something fresh: oranges perhaps.
Nose is just beautiful with well integrated alcohol.
    • Taste
      90 90
Is surprisingly sweet. Lot of dark chocolate with grape sugar, plum jam, dates, raisins, cherry liquor, espresso coffee, tobacco (after cigar).
There are also some spices: nutmeg, cinnamon, then a touch of peat.
      Very full bodied whisky.
    • Finish
      90 90
      Long, with same notes present.
Oak, dried fruits, leather, tobacco, earthy notes.

Very thick and heavily sherried, to a point it's more like a sherry-whisky hybrid than a properly aged whisky. But still very likeable as an aged spirit.
    • Nose
      90 90
At first a thick and almost sticky sherry note fills the glass, then the darkest sweet black cherries, dades, a little citrus, quite nutty, salted macadamias, walnuts, freshly polished antique furniture, brown sugar, toffee, cola bottle sweets and powerful dark chocolate notes.
    • Taste
      89 89
Initially sweet dark fruits, leather, cocoa and pretty stingy with alcohol. Personally not a dram to drink neat, this needs water bringing the abv down to circa 55%. Then huge amounts of fat creamy dark chocolate, dark cherry syrup, plum, a more subtle leather note, some walnuts and spicy wood notes like pepper and clove.
    • Finish
      88 88
Long: a syrupy dark fruit sweetness, more walnuts (quite clear now), ending with bitter cocoa and some pepper.
