Thanks to karloff for the sample.
From the top of my head it's a bit more rounded than the Frontier NAS but not quite as flavoursome as the 95 Rye.
A very good value for money bourbon.

Sweet oaky vanilla, lots of vanilla.
Apricots also adding to the sweetness.
There are hints of banana peel and wood glue, and a faint note of rubber. I also find a nice hint of gingerbread.
Alcohol is soft and all together an inviting nose.
    • Taste
      85 85
Almost as sweet as the nose.
Very round with a rich texture.
Midway it turns a tad bit bitter as there's a development of soft spice.
    • Finish
      84 84
      Just short of medium lenght.
The sweetness fades first giving way to the slightly bolder notes mergeing with the spice.

Another great bourbon from Bulleit. Is it a great leap forward from the normal Bulleit? No is the answer but it is worth paying that little bit extra.
    • Nose

Red roses for me, lots of vanilla, ripe bananas, apricots, a bicycle inner tube, chocolate and coconut, new wood or a new book.
I do love a good bourbon nose and this has a lot going for it.
      It's quite mellow and creamy.
Lots of boiled sweets and wine gums.
    • Taste
      88 88
Is the taste as good as the nose?
That creamy mellowness has turned into something that is slightly bitter but not in a bad way because it is accompanied by spicy notes like cinnamon.
This will be due to the high rye content.
      More apricots and glazed cherries.
Just as a little experiment I added a little bit of water and it knocked it all to hell, it lost that nice spice and just became more bitter.
Anyway back to the straight stuff, the spice creates a nice heat that just oozes fruity flavours.
    • Finish
      87 87
The creamy texture on the nose makes an appearance on the finish. The bitterness fades leaving the spice to finish the job.

Absolutely delicious and easy drinking, it is also ideal for a whiskey sour or old fashioned. I would like to buy again - 06.06.2020
    • Nose
      87 87
Caramel, toffee, werters real, intense milk chocolate, creamy, cranberries, pomegranate, slightly chemical, glue, solvent
    • Taste
      86 86
Soft and mild, cooling, somewhat chemically breathed, but is quickly replaced by caramel, spicy, ginger spicy, hazelnut
    • Finish
      85 85
      Medium length
