really a great cask and a bang for the buck when looking at the 45-50€ release price! Nevertheless the nose and finish shows (very decent but it does) the youth and we slightly miss the 90 points or even 90+ this time.

Great whisky, looks much older. Reminiscent of Aberlour A'Bunadh or Glenlivets Nadurra Sherry, with sweet sherry flavors and strong oak cargo. However, it is much more complex than the two.
    • Nose
Sweet sherry flavors pour from the glass, cherries and plums. Roasted hazelnuts, milk chocolate and dark nougat. The oak is surprisingly strong, too, for the young elder, and brings along fresh herbs, marjoram, and heather. A mineral note is also felt.
    • Taste
Strong onset, oily mouthfeel, again the cherries and plums, also a few fresh figs are now included. Caramel, honey and various nuts raise Turkish honey. Chocolate and nougat. The oak then spreads slowly in the mouth, bringing back the herbal notes.
    • Finish
Long finish, the red fruits on the palate remain long, the oak is getting stronger, and slightly bitter, espresso. In addition to menthol, pepper and and the herb notes.

  10. schero scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
      91 91
Fat chocolaty raisins, plum jam, sugar beet syrup, musty wood, wonderfully integrated alcohol, black bread crust
    • Taste
      88 88
Lots of pressure and heat, spicy chocolate, spicy and dry, much older than on the label
    • Finish
      87 87
A lot of warmth and spice, youthful punch without youthful character to spray, remains very long, in the end comes dark chocolate
