Brutally complex and absolutely great. Quite special, ie he loses at most in the area of courtesy. So maybe a one dram whiskey for some. Whereby he is of course alone in terms of price.

Very complex and expressive. Blueberries and blackberries form the fruity side. A fine bouillon will make it flavourful. And flint dust or something like that gives a minerality.
    • Taste

I am spontaneously reminded of port cask maturation. This tastes like dissolved cassis candies. Then comes blood orange, some spices, ginger, pepper and a nice acidity. The broth now became aspic or jelly.

Wonderful bitter notes in various forms: from ground seeds to ground coffee and cocoa. In addition again fruits and this time boiled beef.

Great SC from Redbreast. For me a great continuation of the 21er. Even more mature, more intense. Of all a trace more. In addition, the higher alcohol content. Everything fits.

      The first smell is impressive.
Beautiful sherry tones with great exotic fruits. Intrusive alcohol is not felt. You have dried fruits, raisins, figs, dates, all of that comes to mind. There are also pineapple, peach, passion fruit. Nice sweet and fruity. After a while there are some spices like cinnamon, cloves, cardamom. Kind of Christmas after gingerbread.
    • Taste
      93 93
Nice creamy, slightly oily, it starts. Then spicy pot still sharpness is added. The alcohol is very nice. But is not disturbing. Very well integrated for me. The exotic fruits are dominant. Only after a few spices come after. Prickelt beautiful long in the whole mouth.
Everything harmonises well with each other.
    • Finish
      91 91
Long intense finish. Pepper spice fades to chocolate and coffee.
Even the exotic fruits are preserved for a long time.

Good for kneeling. In the very good nose you still think you have a classic sherry single pot still in front of you, but then he beats you on the tongue and makes you on the South Pacific and tropical. Great older Redbreast, great single cask.
    • Nose
Heavy sherry scent on the nose, underlined by raisins, sultanas, dried figs and dates. Imagine opening Grandma's spice cabinet and taking a deep nose: cloves, rosemary, thyme, cardamom, cinnamon. Mild liquorice candy, malt, dark toffee, crunchy, cracked old leather.
The more time the whiskey has in the glass, the more it opens up. the spices become even more intense, the dried fruits sweeter. Sugar beet syrup, brown sugar, crème brulée with well flamed surface. Caramel.
    • Taste
Thick and oily and with much more bright, even tropical fruits, as one might suspect in this nose. The poached - fruit-related - in the area of the 21yo and leaves mango, papaya, passion fruit and banana on the tongue. Dried fruits only subsidiary. Leather and tobacco notes, milk chocolate, toffee, toasted malt. The spice cupboard. Great pot still spice mix. Small chopped almonds. Licorice. The has an incredible volume, is long-lasting mouth-filling.
    • Finish
Long, only slightly dry, not so old wood. The tropical fruits still linger on the palate, forming a dream of leaving with liquorice and spices.
