34 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 80.54 points

  1. pianoman scored this whisky 78 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Cyclist with lemon. Green cut, damp soil, wet leaves. Apple cider. A trace of honey.
    • Taste
Malt beer, brown bread, a hint of apricot. Some sugar. Short.

He seems inevitably quite young. The fruits are very bright and fresh. I also have certain yeast associations. In the mouth then relatively sharp for the 45%.
I do not need that again.

  3. Mr.Wong scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Despite its young age, this whisky is balanced and smooth.
    • Nose
Fresh fruits, green apples and pears, and sweet rum
    • Taste
      Sugary sweet and malty.
    • Finish
A gentle woody and malty finish.

This is a whisky that has been around the block – caskwise - as it seems, and especially the chestnut influence (be it for only 5%) triggers my interest, as this would of course receive a big fat frown from the SWA should we be talking about scotch.
No scores, as this was a sample.
    • Nose
On the nose this comes over as quite young and spirit driven. There are some grassy elements here, a slight sourness (something vinegar – lemony), but also some sweetness, with vanilla and a soft honey note with a bit of dry wood.
    • Taste
sharp arrival, dry and sticky mouthfeel, but then it opens up, softens and turns a bit grainy. With a drop of water, this becomes lighter, with more grassy and herbal notes.
    • Finish
The finish is medium long, grainy and woody, with a bit of nuts at the back. A drop of water lengthens this noticeably and brings out the rum influence (at last?) with a sugary sweetness.

  5. LeChiffre scored this whisky 72 points Expert Senior

Well, what should a 3 year old whisky offer? In the nose even better than expected, but then shows the youth in the mouth. Everything is not complex, flat and the youthful notes (metallic, alcohol sharpness) cannot be hidden. No whisky that I have to have in the glass again.
    • Nose
      74 74
Citrus flavors; green apple; some oak; slightly metallic touch; Noticeable alcohol
      - Completely pleasing nose, if simple and the youth can still be clearly felt
    • Taste
      72 72
malty-sweet; yellow fruits; in the end slightly peppery spice and alcoholic spiciness; Here, too, the youth unfortunately get through noticeably
    • Finish
      71 71
short; peppery-spicy with noticeable alcohol sharpness; to feel the youth clearly here too

Wow - for a 3 year old incredibly complex. Sweetness and fruit in the nose dominant, woody-spicy and nutty aroma in the taste more pronounced. Exciting counterpoint.
    • Nose
      88 88
fruity-sweet: dominating tropical fruits (mango, pineapple, pear) with a little honey & caramel. Very light sweetish spice and a slightly creamy-oily nutty aroma; goes towards walnut & hazelnut. A very light floral note and vanilla are hidden in the background. The PX-Sherry note becomes more present after standing a bit, with air contact it develops a little.
    • Taste
      85 85
distinct sweetness. Spicy and fruity taste. Nutty aroma comes through completely (roasted almonds, macadamia, hazelnuts). A very light sherry note. This chestnut wood somehow stays in your head, and trying to classify it ... very interesting.
    • Finish
      83 83
long finish with a malty note. The spice is also retained for a long time, the sweetness tends to recede. Coffee-tart taste (but very pleasantly integrated) and an oak aroma stay on the tongue for a long time. Gets drier out the back.
