Woody characters immediately pervaded the nose - the Malt-meister found Swedish saunas, another was sawing planks; the Tour-guide sensed the promise of `a trap-door to another world.` Other things emerged with time; pineapple, pear, banana, vanilla and molasses, Lux flakes and cinnamon toast. The taste was smooth; with abundant wood (cedar) some salty buttered toast while the finish had cinnamon, nutmeg and hints of cherry. The reduced nose continued the fruity theme (cherry and raspberries). The reduced palate was bourbon-like (in a good way); smooth, inviting and mouth-coating, with woody spices and hot-crossed buns. It comes from the 'glen of tranquillity'.
