  1. LiquidThoughts scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Surprisingly fruity and full of chatacter
    • Nose
Almonds, eucalyptus, candy floss, dental floss, cardamom, vanilla, light malt, lots of white oak, a bit alcoholic, grass and tick craft glue
    • Taste
Almond tart, then lots of freshly grated ginger, guava, cumin, papaya, tangerine, green apple, honey, sweet pipe tobacco, toffee, eucalyptus
    • Finish
Eucalyptus, green apple, papaya, ginger, honey, long

A Lochside with a nice nose, which does not keep its promises in the mouth at all.
    • Nose
      87 87
Quite smooth and delicate nose, with a first floral impression.
      Lilac, pink.
We have a little lemon, dried apricot, almond, acacia honey, vanilla.
      Pepper, eucalyptus.
    • Taste
      79 79
In the mouth, it is unfortunately very unbalanced.
The fragrance takes center stage, making the floral a little sickening.
We have aromas of rubber appearing, of burnt tires.
Green apple, lemon, orange, pepper, ginger, solvent.
    • Finish
      79 79
Long and sickening finish on the fragrance, lemon zest, ginger and a light peat.

  3. Calmar scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

The fragrance promised something else, but then everything got worse, with the power and density available, an absolutely one-dimensional, primitive molt.
    • Nose
Open, dry, first nose - spicy oak and rowan; dried boards, wood dust, lemon peel, grain, berry mantle, leather goods.
    • Taste
Powerful, saturated, a lot of oak, pepper, bitter bark, grain, very crude, flat.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, the continuation of taste.

Whisky 509. Lochside 1981-2000 by Lombard, 50% abv.
In the fragrance of fruktiki. Very spicy whisky, despite its 50%. Fruit sweetness gives way to wood. I want to drink more and more! Summer and "meadow" whisky.

  5. Alex Fridays scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

It’s a sweet, fresh and light on nose with notes of grass, Christmas cake, new mown hay, salt fish, ripe fruits, fruits kernels, muffin, leather with some minerality. The palate is light and fresh with notes of grass, spices, pepper, dryness, caramel snd duchess pear. The finish is long, spicy and dry with notes of grass and duchess pears. This whisky is very tasty, interesting, unique and easy drinkable.

    [January, 2013]  Together with friends I emptied a bottle that I bought for 81 Euro in December, 2012.In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored this 87,5.  My notes state a typical fat Lochside profile that is dangerously quaffable.  I like it!
