The 12-year-old Jura has also been freshly launched for the distillery's new standard range. After maturing in bourbon barrels, the single malt was given a finish in sherry barrels. Delivery in a gift box with two tumblers with Jura lettering!
    • Nose
Sweet ripe fruits and some citrus. In addition chocolate, honey and spices.
    • Taste
Full-bodied and sweet on the tongue. Notes of ripe bananas as well as dark chocolate and coffee.
    • Finish
Medium-long and spicy, sweet with a little oak, coffee and smoke.

3rd of the Jura tasting I had a while ago.
    • Nose
I don’t like this nose. 10yo is better imho. This one has quite some offnotes.
    • Taste
Caramel dominates here. The 10yo is more flavorful if you ask me. This one is just a little to simplified.
    • Finish
Sour offnotes neutralize the experience for me. I certainly would not buy this.

Typical Jura to be recognized immediately!
    • Nose
      Earthy, malty, honey, ripe fruits
    • Taste
Ripe fruits, spices, minimal smoke, liquorice, dark chocolate
    • Finish
Medium long and spicy with smoke

  4. ffmdino did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

is OK, but I would not make up my mind to buy one
the nose is typical; sounds strange now, if that is overcome then the malt is fun
The palate and finish are good
    • Nose
light cheese, leather, red apple, something like spices (the mixture from a spice shop), malt, a touch of sherry, smoke can be felt, light oak, slightly sweetness, vanilla comes
    • Taste
soft and silky on the palate
Cardboard (damp), damp leather becomes stronger, bitter, smoke, spicy, light oak, coffee or espresso powder, many dark berries come in the direction of currant, sherry comes
    • Finish
      medium long
Sherry, tart, spicy, red berries, a very interesting note that I cannot name, workshop smell comes, currant, becomes very tart

  5. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 75 points Connoisseur

I didn't like it as much as the unpretentious 10er, it tries to offer a little more of everything and the smell of the empty glass is also very fine, but somehow everything is not so coherent.
    • Nose
ui, it has something of its own, sweet but also a little wet cardboard, fruit, wood and a slightly musty note that is often said to Jura, which surprisingly did not have the 10s, but spicy, cinnamon and also the hint of peat smoke.
    • Taste
thin and rather tart, a little peat smoke, only a little fruit.
    • Finish
tart and slightly herbaceous, unfortunately the barrel shows too many bitter aromas and the fruit cannot get through. Also a bit smoky at the end, tobacco, cigars, which is again quite nice.

Room temperature when drinking: 13 ℃

    Viewing Eyes: Maple Syrup

Smell Nose: The wine was sweet and decayed when it was poured out. Wake up in 15 minutes, smelling the fragrance becomes easy and energetic, caramel baked apple, apple tower, fudge, bergamot, apple juice, milk

Taste Palate: syrup, sweetened coconut milk, baked oak, sand, a little spicy

Finish: Finish, short rice, white oak, pie crust, coffee beans, gummy bears

Body of the wine: light, full of fat, no tannin, bitter bottom

    Nose: 82/100

    Palate: 82/100

    Finish: 81/100

    Body: 84/100

    Overall: 81/100

Overall: 16 years of wine, no complexity, no balance, sweet to die, and then match this 40% alcohol ... you can experience it yourself

malty, a little orange peel, a little better, spicy sweetness
the palate lets the dry and toasted wood, a little hazelnuts, and subtly cooked fruits on the edge of the stove, chocolatey trace also, a little grassy too, simple but tenderly beautiful and good
short finish on the other hand, a little dry, ash and some fruits that disappear quickly enough.

First tried 2 years ago at Whisky Live when it just launched, and find this rather anonymous with its shy characters and surely not a shinning star in the shows with many other high strength stuff.

N- Still a shy boy on a clean palate, lightest hint of honey and ginger orange, toasted wood smokes with subtle pepper, very gentle, fragile and weak. However, also mean not much has been 'arranged' to what it is, originality well kept. Calm. (80/17)

P- Much better, sour fruits with soft smokes lead the way with chocolate and dry nuttiness. Crisp. (84/18)

F- Medium, spices, dry and clean. Emphasizing on the characters rather the flavours. Dust of floral with toasted honey smokes. (85/19)

    B/B- 84/18

    Cr- 2, Fr- 1, Fl- 1, Pt- 0, Ft- 1, Sp-0, Wd-1, Wn-1, Sc-1

    Weighted Rate- 72pt
