So tbh it is a good Longmorn but nothing special about this bottle.
Pretty standard imho. I am a bit surprised to see 96P.
Maybe you guys never tried Malts from the '60s or '70s and also the price is really high for a 92 Longmorn.

One thing in advance. Yes, unfortunately I could only try a few malts from the 60s and 70s. I certainly miss the expertise. I also like this bottling very well. Here are my humble impressions.
Character: This bottling impresses with a really nice exotic fruity sherry characteristic. There is really a lot going on here. Intensity and body could hardly be better and the variety in nose, taste and finish is just fun.
Rating: A real pleasure that I unfortunately can not open up completely on the basis of my 5cl samples. There is also still a lot to explore after two tests. A bottling that will probably hold many surprises in the open bottles over time. If it were not for the athletic price, this bottling would be for me a clear bottle candidate. So it remains for the time being with a great "first impression" and a whopping 91 points. Tendency 92.
    • Nose
Intense, juicy sherry flavors, accompanied by orange peel, flow into the nose. In addition to juicy raisins, there is a huge exotic fruit basket. Pineapple, melon, kaki, kiwi and lychees meet pears and apples. At the back, slightly dusty oak notes resonate. Oranges, limes and a little bit of lemon in turn, with their acidity, make for a decidedly lively nose. Sherry, fruits, oak, sweetness and acid act here at eye level. An interesting and multi-faceted nose that invites you to get to know and explore. Without quite getting to him, the first impression remotely reminds me of the magnificent Bunnahabhain TBWC Batch 11 (WID 116715). In any case, makes the variable and juicy nose extremely keen on the first try. The alcohol is perfectly integrated.
    • Taste
With a near perfect intensity, the drop hits the tip of the tongue. The mouthfeel leaves nothing to be desired and one taste chases the other. Almost too fast, the whole fruit basket is "dumped" in the mouth. Again, there are oranges full. In addition a lot of peach and melon. Pomegranates and kiwi scurry past, and for a second I hang on to a taste that reminds me of gooseberries. There are sweet green apples, limes and a handful of sultanas. Everything really delicious and in a really great interaction. The only drawback: almost too fast for me. So fast I can not believe the individual tastes. Since a longer development of the taste would suit me rather. A subtle harmonious oak flavor, a hint of vanilla and some fudge ring in the finish faster than I would like.
    • Finish
The finish is medium to long. Of the variety of the beautiful fruit basket remains in the end unfortunately not so much left. Oranges, orange peel and slightly tart lemons are still quite present. The other fruit notes blur rather in the background. Only a little melon flashes through here and there. In addition, there is a delicious and slightly declining oak flavor and with time more and more almonds. It is getting increasingly dry and beautiful espresso notes come through. At the end even provided with a little espresso powder. Extremely delicious and never bitter.

I have not known such a longmorn yet. Did not expect so much. So far I have been one of the prejudiced Longmorn haters. But here you get for 200.00 EUR offered a lot of whisky.

    Good value for money.

    Above-average whisky.

    WOW!!!
    • Nose
      93 93
fruity vanilla with citrus, orange, peach, pleasant sweetness.
    • Taste
      95 95
A true fruit explosion, peach, tropical fruits, mirabelle plums, oranges, grapefruit, citrus fruits, kiwi. I can not perceive so quickly what the flavors on the tongue suggest. Then vanilla, a little bit of biscuit.
    • Finish
      94 94
The fruity vanilla flavor with the tropical fruits remains in the finish. Blood orange, pomegranate are added, slightly nutty taste with some marzipan and cinnamon at the end.

The first impression did not convince me at first, but I was thrilled at the second tasting.
    • Nose
      91 91
First chalky cask notes, freshly cut champions, then quickly fruit flavors, melon, kiwi, papaya, subtle oak tones.
    • Taste
      92 92
Complex, the character of the spirit is palpable and alcohol is beautifully integrated, colorful mixture of light and red fruits, watermelon, some raspberry, strawberry and blueberry.
    • Finish
      93 93
Long, with wonderful tropical, remaining fruit flavors and pleasant oak bitterness. Mineral influences and barrel flavors are added.

Whoever hyped this before sale - it is just like its sister casks: nice but not spectacular. Cui bono?

    Crazy whisky world...

  9. Whisky-Raritäten scored this whisky 91 points Expert Junior

It presents itself complex with many aromas of sherry, butter, honey and sweetness. In taste it shows itself together with dark sherry fruits, sweet honey and toffee. Its finish is soft, long and very pleasant.

A very good longmorn with 26 years for under 200 EUR!
