- Astringent alcohol and dry oak, then a whole lot of nothing. Water breaks this apart however. Its rather green, with freshly cut twigs and ground bark. It proceeds with oranges and dried yellow stone fruit. Not bad!
Pretty aggressive at this strength. Well-balanced tannins and caramel cake, but overall rather closed-off. Water helps here as well. When diluting it down to 43-45% ABV it finally shows its character: thoroughly balanced, caramel sweetness, candied peaches, and faint dried banana. A young malt, sure, but quite pleasant.
Medium-short. A touch of mint chocolate and butter-scotch biscuit.
I liked the Odyssey-Barley release a tad better. It’s worth a try though. Single Malt from England is somehow still rather unlikely for me *wink*.
