"A lively nose that straight away gave off big notes of buttery barley, lemon possit cake, pineapple cubes, jelly babies, rhubarb, eucalyptus sweeties, green olives in brine and limoncello. A sense of standing on the CalMac ferry deck was also noted. Water brought out sea greens, grassy olive oil, dried seaweed, plastic raincoats, fragrant linen, sandalwood ash, white pepper and salted butterscotch sauce. The arrival in the mouth was peppery and warm - like a fisherman’s friend - lots of soot, green peppercorns, hay, salty porridge, buckthorn, salted caramel, herbal teas and mint choc chip ice cream. Dilution revealed mead, heather ale, chocolate stout, blackcurrants, medicinal bramble throat sweeties, pink lemonade, wild mint and custard creams."
