  1. wisekycourse scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Blend of 16 whiskys aged 25 and 29 plus a small portion of 29 Bere Barley Sherry Whisky
    • Nose
round, soft, strong in the nose!
      on leather, mildew, dust
liquorice sensation on old Rivesaltes or ratafias, slightly rancid walnuts, raisins, cooked and macerated fruits, dry orange peel
Brittany caramel butter buttered, a little coffee
    • Taste
syrup, cooked syrup juice, dried essences, madérised white wine, it's round and creamy!
undifferentiated fruits on orange, tangerine, grapes cooked on the edge of the stove and its scent.
woody with its impregnated shavings, grassy, strong malt.
      bitter sensation on the palate
return of leather, wood again and caramel and some milk chocolate.
    • Finish
      old walnut, buttered caramel
      the fruits in syrup annealed
wine on ratafia or on old vintage wines of late harvest
sensation of rum baba cream with her bouquet of herbs including a little thyme.
      final that lasts.

    Nose:
round, soft, strong on leather, mold, dust, mushroom juice (on the porcini!) and dehydrated mushroom.
syrupy sensation on old Rivesaltes or ratafias, slightly rancid nuts, currants, cooked and macerated fruit, dried orange peel
caramel of Brittany buttered to excess, a little coffee, dusty leather, peppery spices, crushed wood with the aroma of shavings that goes with it.
    Mouth:
syrup !, cooked syrup juice, essences of dried aromas, maderized white wine; it's round and creamy! undifferentiated fruit on orange, tangerine, grapes cooked on the edge of the stove and its scent. Woody with its impregnated chips, grassy, strong malt. Sensation of bitter in the mouth.
Back of the leather, wood again and caramel and a little milk chocolate.
    Finish:
the old walnut, the buttered caramel, the fruit in annealed syrup; wine on ratafia or on old late harvest vintages; a sensation of rum baba cream with its bouquet of herbs including a little thyme, a vegetable side that finally stands out.
The finish which lasts and it is one of the strong points of the old traffic jams, namely a long and evolving finish, the scents twirling in the mouth, on the edges of the tongue then at the bottom.

    Very elegant.
Old and sweet with leather, overripe apples, caramel, grapes, trail mix and aromatic oak.

A detailed description will come soon ...

Takes a lot of time in the glass (like most Couvreur bottlings). Extremely complex, sweet, deep and full. For me, close to perfection ... if only the price weren't.

  5. ArPeJa scored this whisky 96 points Expert Junior

    Perfect sherry whiskey

  6. nhuber scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

Blend of 16 25 and 29 years old whisky. Some small portion of 29 Bere Barley Sherry whisky added.

Nose rather discrete but very pleasant and very long in the mouth, stays there for a long time even after you have swallowed it. Very nice not sure it is enough to make you pay 500/600€ but a very nice one after the dinner and if you have too much money anyway... Why not, you won't regret it.

  7. Sleinn nam Ffoh scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

Extremely complex, mature and supple. The old wine aromas convey an inimitable taste experience.
    There really fits every note.
