Where does it take you?
It took me to the Ardbeg warehouse in the early 2000s which had about 8yo stuff from around 1994 on offer.
This is the heavily peated Bunnahabhain new make that is produced for 3rd party blending. Shouldn't really be in a single cask bottle. The cask was shaved and alligator (re-)charred. Interestingly the hoggie only yielded 212 bottles when you'd expect 300. However, this is a powerful dram that gets better the more air you give it to and to me this is how I would project an Ardbeg Cask Strength NAS/8yo bottling to taste.
Btw, no water for me here, get's too sweet for my liking.
One of the best values for money for a heavily peated dram that has not reached its teens, hm, I can't really think of any superior bottling in this bracket.
