700ml/¥2980@ Liquor Mt.
Appearance: Medium amber.
Nose: Light smoke, toffee and vanilla, bit of brine. Malt biscuits. Bit of apple and stone fruit, but not much.
Palate: More campfire smoke, caramel, biscuits, malt sugar, salt, bit of apple.
Finish: Honey, vanilla, light oak, smoke and pepper. Not particularly long but not bad.
With Water: Smoky, sweet, peppery.
Overall: This is an easy, very likable whisky and really a decent intro to Campbeltown, as it fits the style but does so in an easy way. Goes down too easy maybe. It has enough complexity to keep me interested, despite the young age, and was a fantastic bargain at this sale price.
