Whisky Reviews for Glen Scotia Campbeltown Harbour

5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 80.93 points

  1. wbarchive_875995 scored this whisky 83 points Expert Junior

Fruit and mineral, with the aroma of orange, vanilla, sea spray and gentle haze, the taste is slightly sweet with sourness, with hints of fruit marmalade, oranges and cookies, a medium-length finish, with notes of baking and oranges.
Quite a nice malt for very understandable money, the average level of quality of the base GS releases is quite high.

    700ml/¥2980@ Liquor Mt.

    Appearance: Medium amber.

Nose: Light smoke, toffee and vanilla, bit of brine. Malt biscuits. Bit of apple and stone fruit, but not much.

Palate: More campfire smoke, caramel, biscuits, malt sugar, salt, bit of apple.

Finish: Honey, vanilla, light oak, smoke and pepper. Not particularly long but not bad.

    With Water: Smoky, sweet, peppery.

Overall: This is an easy, very likable whisky and really a decent intro to Campbeltown, as it fits the style but does so in an easy way. Goes down too easy maybe. It has enough complexity to keep me interested, despite the young age, and was a fantastic bargain at this sale price.

Kind of tasty, but too little of everything. Alcohol too, you can see the 40%.

Very sweet (red groats, vanilla, cake), slightly fresh.
    • Taste

A little dry oak, a little hay, sweetness recedes.

Light and medium length. Slightly nutty.
